Happiness is at the heart of our business

When most people visualize Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, they picture his wide smile and the sparkle in his eyes. Sure, that iconic grin might be because Sir Branson seems to have it all, but that happy nature also has a lot to do with his brand and the focus of his business plan.

“Happiness is the secret ingredient for successful businesses. If you have a happy company it will be invincible.” – Sir Richard Branson

This example is something I also strive to achieve. As a leader, I know if I promote a vision of happiness, then that inspiration will be seen in the actions of my employees. Everyone on the team must realize happiness, the opposite of negative stress, in order to achieve total organizational success. That unity creates a solid core that is unstoppable when faced with a roadblock and resilient to change mistakes into learning opportunities.

As leaders, we know promoting a happy work environment is central to a successful business. A happy worker is a dedicated, motivated, engaged, energetic, productive worker. The right frame of mind, or framework in an organization’s environment, can be the key for a team to realize its full potential. It is important for leaders to recognize that success is not solely based on profitability, revenue achievement, cost-containment or perfect surveys. True success means loving and enjoying what you do every day. Realizing this in my own daily outlook, it has been easy to pass happiness along—to promote more joy in the workday for everyone at Pathway Health.  Here’s to achieving your happiness!
