Social Workers in Long Term Care settings have a myriad of roles and responsibilities. They are the core resource for the residents, families and fellow interdisciplinary team members. This educational offering explores these roles and responsibilities. It will provide both the newly appointed Social Workers, as well as individuals who are interested in a fuller understanding of their roles, with information and tools to enhance their success as a Social Worker in a skilled nursing facility setting. Understanding the role of Social Service in the MDS 3.0 will also be covered, including basic coding and managing the MDS 3.0 from the social service perspective. This course will also provide those responsible for selecting and supervising Social Workers with an enhanced knowledge base to assist and support the individuals within their organizations.
