Pain Management

This session will provide an overview of pain assessment and management for the older adult residing in a long term care facility. Discussion will occur regarding the resident with chronic pain, acute pain management with the resident who has chronic pain, and special considerations for the cognitively impaired older adult. Various types of learning strategies will be used ? case studies, discussion, demonstration, power point presentation and games.
