A Lasting Legacy

Debby L. Schuna – Founder

As a founder of Pathway Health, Debby was our “heartbeat” that drove our direction and purpose of Pathway Health from its founding in 1997 until her passing in January 2016. Her lasting legacy is hard to put into words, but she was the “heartbeat or caring”, she could always be depended on for a plan for the future and she always brought a sense of calm to chaotic situations.

As Chief Executive Officer, her primary responsibilities included Pathway Health’s strategic growth, management of operational vice presidents and new program development. Debby brought over three decades of health care operations and development experience to Pathway Health. As one of the organization’s founders, she has played a key role in its creation and growth. Debby was responsible for establishing Pathway Health’s reputation for excellence in clinical consultation, strong market position and innovative clinical program development. Her operational expertise was in regulatory turnaround, management and compliance.

Debby’s presence will continue to be greatly missed. Her drive for helping others is woven into the fabric of our organization and has become our core mission which is a passion and love for caring. Our path into the future was laid out by her and our future is bright thanks to her.

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, Debby Schuna won the Robert Nolte Award in honor of her many years of service and dedication to Volunteers of America.
